People’s Captain Latte Latte Love set
People’s Captain is a beer company whose mission is to encourage men to talk more about their feelings (it was over a pint of beer that the founder managed to open up about his mental health). The brand has joined forces with two other impressive companies, Easy Jose Coffee & Tony’s Chocoloney, to create their beer, coffee and chocolate gift set. Inside the box is a bottle of the coffee chocolate stout, a bar of Tony’s Chocoloney, a bag of Easy Jose groud coffee, and a glass. We love the thoughtful combination of gifts and think it makes a stellar Father’s Day gift. Available from People’s Captain (£26).

Banhoek chilli oil
Fans of heat will enjoy Banhoek chilli oil which is made with sun-ripened Bird’s Eye chillies and carries just the right level of heat. Produced in small batches in South Africa’s Western Cape winelands, it delivers a balanced flavour with the help of canola oil which doesn’t overpower the chilli’s natural flavour. Your Dad can enjoy it on all manner of things, from eggs or pasta to fried rice, pizza or noodles. Available from Banhoek, (£8.50).
Smokin’ Brothers salmon
The salmon smoked by Cotswold’s based Smokin’ Brothers is sourced from the last family-owned salmon farm in Scotland, which has strict standards, and is an organic certified farm. The fish is filleted, cured for a minimum of 10 hours, and then smoked. The sides of salmon are then sliced using a sashimi slice, and prepared as belly or tail cuts. Sliced thicker than your usual cut, your Dad will be able to get the most from the extremely supple and buttery texture of the clean and rich flavoured fish. Available from Smokin’ Brothers from £29.80.

Gift the cheese with some crackers and a bottle of something to drink, and you have an ideal cheese gift for your Dad that won’t break the bank. ProQ Flatdog barbecue
This portable, collapsible barbecue from ProQ is ideal for dads who like to camp, hike, or grill outdoors. Slim enough to fit in the most awkward of spaces when travelling, but large enough to grill for a family of 4 (at 30cm x 38cm there is ample space to cook). We love the compact simplicity of the grill, and were impressed with the ease of set-up (literally a minute). It’s much better for the environment than buying disposable barbecues too, and with proper care, should last a lifetime. Available from ProQ Smokers (£89.99).

For a big ticket item, you can’t get much better than a pizza oven… Probably the best-known of the at-home pizza oven brands, Ooni co-founders husband-and-wife team Kristian Tapaninaho and Darina Garland were the first to launch a portable wood-pellet-fired pizza oven in 2012. The Ooni Koda is the gas-fired version of the entry-level family pizza oven and is designed to make pizzas up to 13 inches (also available is the Ooni Koda 16 that knocks out super-sized pizzas up to 16 inches). Rockfish tinned fish selection pack
Fish in tins is all the rage, but the posh stuff with pretty pictures on doesn’t have to come all the way from Spain. Devon-based seafood chef Mitch Tonks’ new range, from small boats fishing England’s South Coast, is prime shelf candy as well as being flavoursome, with designs from Mitch’s wife Penny Tonks. Toss the ‘Brixham calamari’ (cuttlefish in ink sauce) with pasta and a squeeze of lemon; the Lyme Bay mussels escabeche makes a moreish snack with crusty bread. Other goodies include mackerel and sardines. Available from Rockfish (£23.95 for a gift pack of 4).
